Bobby LaPonte is admittedly just a youth. He is 6 seasons of age, the only child of his parents, and resides with his parents in Johns Creek, Georgia. But Bobby has large goals. While youthful in age, he is wholly set on his fantasy to someday drive in NASCAR’s huge leagues, the Sprint Cup Series.

Bobby’s aspirations are so big, in fact, that he regularly dreams about driving with the big fellows. According to his parents, Larry and Nancy, he even makes the clamor of NASCAR cars in his sleep.

Larry feels that his kid gave grow to his interest in NASCAR while still a fetus. “I raced the amateur road course circuit for ten seasons,” he insisted. “When my spouse was expecting with Bobby, she used to be there to watch me compete and we think that is when Bobby began his love of nascar.”

Much like Jeff Gordon with his daughter Ella, the LaPontes maintain photographs of young Bobby climbing in and out of his father’s auto when he was only a toddler.

Bobby might practice every day if he was able to, and he gets that chance with the extensive race season, from March through November, in the Southern facet of the country. He and his father race every Saturday and Sunday, often going to other states, which include Alabama, North Carolina, and Tennessee, to take part in their regional events.

This past July, Bobby participated in his 1st countrywide finals event. He won his semifinal group race.

Bobby is swift to tell you that he races quarter midgets, a smaller version of the USAC Midget Sprint autos that Cup drivers such as NASCAR’s title point president Tony Stewart started his career driving.

Bobby lets you recognize that because he intends to trail in Stewart’s footprints and follow that identical road in his own nascar career.

This tiny guy indeed is looking forward to realizing his big NASCAR dreams, that of racing with his heroes in the seasons in store.
